Situated in Ponta Delgada, less than 1 km from Portas da Cidade, Casa da Cidade has a Guest House and offers four double rooms with a private bathroom.

The property is located in the old area of Ponta Delgada, next to Jardim Antero de Quental and Igreja do Colégio (former college of the Jesuits) about 1.5 km from the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora da Esperança (where the image of Senhor Santo Cristo dos Milagres is), 4.3 km from João Paulo II Airport and 4.2 km from the pineapple greenhouses.

The guest house has rooms overlooking the garden or the main street, one of which has a balcony. All areas of the house and the terrace have free Wi-Fi.

On the terrace, next to the garden, guests can have breakfast. As an alternative, breakfast is served every morning in the house’s dining room and consists of regional Azorean products, from fruits, to the various qualities of bread, passion fruit juice and, naturally, the teas produced on the island.

All rooms include a private bathroom and wardrobe and are equipped with bed and bath linen and toiletries.

According to independent comments from guests that we found registered on Booking and Expedia, one of the advantages of Casa da Cidade and its location is the proximity to local restaurants, allowing at the end of the day, after so many car rides and challenging trails, to walk to a restaurant for dinner…

Every wall, every floorboard resonates with the history of the Island that intersects with the history of the Family. Dreams of independence, of a better and more autonomous life are nourished by an enlightened liberalism, an educated and, paradoxically, traditional cultured rebellion. This house was bought, by the great-grandfather of the current owner, for his daughters with their families in a sense of family clan, union and affection that were very dear to him.

This sense of family, of home, appears in the decoration, in the careful way in which the house was prepared to receive guests / friends, in the wide smiles of those who open the door and sit us down at their table. All the furniture has a history of those who live or have lived in Casa da Cidade and the furniture that have been restored reveals the good taste and modernity of the current owner. From its magnificent photographs, which mark every space in the house, to the amazing breakfasts that transport us to a world of flavors, that makes us feel like we never had experienced the true flavors of things.
